Alumni Awards
For more than 40 years, RMU has recognized the accomplishments of its distinguished alumni each year with various awards.
The Heritage Award is the university's most prestigious alumni honor, given annually for distinguished service and accomplishment in any field of human endeavor that brings honor to the recipient and the university. The contribution need not be one in which public acclaim is emphasized, but may consist of important creative effort in organization and development having social or educational value. Service to the university is not required for this award, but will be considered.
In addition, the university gives the following awards every year at Homecoming:
- Service Awards are given for continuous active participation in alumni or university events and programs, making and securing donations to the university, and continuous efforts in promoting the image and prestige of RMU.
- Achievement Awards are given for exceptional accomplishments in a chosen profession, or to distinguished leaders who have brought honor to themselves and the university. A separate Young Achievement Award is given to a graduate under the age of 35.
